Quiet Panic was formed in 2019 by co-founders Ryan Hoffman and Michael Messina. Its relevance is deeply rooted in hardcore punk ideology - a community that both founders grew up in, learned their ethics from, and have built connections, and friendships for decades.
Staying true to their DIY ethos while inspired by like-minded labels such as 4AD, Factory, Dischord, and Touch & Go, Quiet Panic operates an Independent Record Label and Artist Management Collective focused on delivering subversive art from a diverse pool of talent who aren't afraid to express themselves without limitations.
Quiet Panic has released singles by Brooklyn-based power pop trio Spiral Heads (members of MGMT, Modest Mouse, and American Nightmare), as well as Brooklyn-based electronic musician Pictureplane, who collaborated with Goth Boi Clique’s Fish Narc on a coldwave/deathrock inspired track, “Underwater Panther”. Recent releases include LPs from Filth is Eternal, Tennis System, Slow Crush, Oversize, M.U.T.T, and Negative Blast. Compelling and inventive artists are consistently being added to the roster, with more to be announced soon.
Quiet Panic’s management collective represents some of today’s most eclectic artists in music. Their focus is on individuality and creating a home for those who are forward-thinking and passionate about their craft. Their goal is to build a truly collaborative work environment where each member of the team has an opportunity to curate sounds and visuals that inspire them, starting with Belgium's “Slow Crush”, San Francisco's “Fearing”, Southern Lord’s “Excel”, MNRK Music Group's “Toxic Holocaust”, MNRK Music Group's “Take Offense”, and more.
Quiet Panic is physically and digitally distributed through The Orchard / Sony Music worldwide.
